Some people in the media have referred to me as “the real life Kimmy Schmidt.” For those of you who don’t know, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a popular show on Netflix about a girl who is trapped in a cult in an underground bunker and then escapes to find herself starting life all over in New York City as a young adult. Like Kimmy, I spent most of my life cut off from the world and had to find my place in mainstream America as a young teenager after spending my life preparing for the Apocalypse.
